Operation

  • Snowblowing Process:

    • Operate at a steady pace, avoiding sudden stops or movements.

    • Adjust chute direction to avoid blowing snow toward pedestrians, vehicles, or buildings.

    • Avoid overloading the auger; clear small sections at a time if dealing with heavy snow.

Safety Guidelines

  • Always wear appropriate PPE.

  • Never operate a snowblower while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

  • Do not attempt to clear blockages with hands or feet; always use a clearing tool.

  • Keep hands, feet, and loose clothing away from moving parts.

  • Avoid operating on steep inclines to prevent tipping.

  • Do not leave the snowblower unattended while running.

  • Be mindful of nearby pedestrians and vehicles.

Emergency Procedures

  • Machine Malfunction:

    • If the snowblower stops functioning, turn off the engine and inspect for visible issues.

    • Do not attempt to repair while the engine is running.

    • Notify supervisor if necessary.

  • Injury:

    • In case of an injury, stop operation immediately.

    • Provide first aid as needed and call for medical assistance if required.

    • Report all incidents to the supervisor.

  • Fire or Fuel Spill:

    • Turn off the snowblower and evacuate the area if a fire occurs.

    • Use a fire extinguisher if safe to do so.

    • In case of a fuel spill, contain and clean it using absorbent materials, and dispose of waste properly.

Training and Compliance
